Baby Sam is my second grandson. He was born on May 27th 2013 to the delight of all his family and especially me. Here he is having one of his first baths. Isn’t he cute.
On Friday he visited the cottage with his parents for the first time – quite an occasion and one of many to come. So far he has been asleep most of the times I have seen him. He does seem to be a very contented baby. I’m thinking he might have auburn, curly hair like his Dad.
Needless to say his mum and dad are very proud of him. Here is Dad having a cat-nap with his new son:
Isn’t that adorable? My heart swells with pride when I see my lovely family growing and thriving.
Now please read the Stop Press notice on the right-hand side. The news I receive tomorrow is going to change my life…
As I wait patiently for my new grandchild, who is due on 22nd May, I am thinking back to a former time when I too was waiting for a child. I have been very lucky, for not one…
not two … but three little boys have been given to me.
I keep their baby books in this very special box and look at them from time to time.
This is Robert’s first picture, taken in May 1974. Click to enlarge and see better.
and Edward came along three year’s later in 1977, the year of our Queen’s Silver Jubilee.
Three years after that, in 1980, David was born. We were too busy to take a picture of him so the entry had to wait a few months!
Now David is going to be a daddy and I am wondering what the baby will look like. Will it be a boy or a girl, big or small, quiet or noisy, we just have to wait and see..
What I do know is that he/she will bring lots of joy into their lives and mine too.
So, here I am waiting, waiting. Do you like my slippers?
I have returned to England early to some great news! My youngest son David and his wife Michelle are expecting a baby next Spring and so I am going to be an Oma again and Dylan will have another cousin.
My return to England was a little premature, by one week and dh and cat Millie are not with me. Suffice to say that our plans have changed somewhat.
However, I am happy to be back in my cosy cottage and looking forward to the new arrival with great anticipation.
Now to catch up on my sleep 🙂
Have a great week everybody! I’ll be catching up on what you’re all up to over the next day or so.
