Last Saturday I went to a biennial patchwork quilt show in a nearby village. Sewing is very much part of cottage life, at least it is in this cottage! and I was pleased to go along and see what other people had done.
The quilts were fantastic as you will see in the following pictures:
The next one isn’t quite finished, but it is lovely, don’t you think?
and this next one was voted ‘Best in Show’. I think you can see why. It is fabulous, isn’t it!
Larry found an appropriate one: Someone had made a quilt of American flags. Isn’t that neat?
No. 29
I hope you enjoyed your trip round the quilt exhibition with me. Which one did you like best?

There is some stunning work there.. and I did enjoy the trip. But it’s impossible to choose one. I prefer more muted colours, so would go for 2 or 15. And the sheep!!
Good choices Jessica. My friend Jo made the bow tie quilt (no. 15) for her husband. It’s lovely isn’t it and I know how much work went into that one!
one of my favorite pass-times!
I spent hours looking at quilts…
5 is my favorite… have never done a black and white…I just might start one soon…
I love the ladybug ones, # 9…and then I kept forgetting to count LOLs…
so I will just say I like them all some more than others!
What a wonderful day …yes sewing is my cottage’s life too….
Thank you for sharing your day….and giving me some ideals…
Take Care…

I’m a beginner at patchwork LadyBlueRose, but I had such fun seeing what can be achieved with a little practise. Thank you for viewing 🙂
I can see why that one won Best in Show. But I LOVE the whimsy of the sheep and the ladybugs! 🙂
Thanks for your photos. The dragon I liked, very much.
Yes, he’s very cute isn’t it. The quilts are so imaginative aren’t they and the colours are so gorgeous.
14, 21, and 28 catch my eye. 5 is the most impressive but I’m not a fan of black and white. (Life’s too short not to live it in color!)
I love them all but I especially like Number 13 and number 27, 🙂 they certainly gave me that WOW factor, what time and patience they must have taken in making, I have only ever made one quilt which was small, for a dolls pram, I made it out of scraps of dress material left over from my daughters dresses when she was small that i had made… I had forgotten all about that until now… 🙂
Lovely photos , thank you for sharing your day, I felt as i was there walking around viewing.. 🙂
Enjoy your week

Yes it was a lovely show and the stall selling their wares was great too. I bought a gift for one of my daughters-in-law and felt very pleased with myself for doing so.
